"What did you learn?" @MLauer asks #MarionCotillard about headlines generated during making of @AlliedMovie concerning her and #BradPitt

Marion Cotillard acknowledged rumors that she had an affair with her Allied costar Brad Pitt prior to the actor’s split from his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, during an appearance on the Today show on Thursday, November 17.

The French actress, 41, told cohost Matt Lauer that the speculation about a possible romance with Pitt, 52, didn’t bother her in the least. “I never take anything personally when it doesn’t concern me,” Cotillard told Lauer, 58. “And so I didn’t take it personally because I had nothing to do with those rumors or situations.”

Asked if the rumors affected her experience in making the romantic thriller with Pitt, the Oscar winner replied, “No. No, I mean, I don’t give energy to this. It was a wonderful, wonderful experience working with such a visionairy director [Robert Zemeckis] and an amazing actor, so that’s all that matters, you know?”

Back in September, Cotillard’s onscreen chemistry with Pitt led to gossip that their close relationship had played a part in the Fight Club hunk’s split from Jolie, 41. (As previously reported, the Maleficent star filed for divorce on September 19, citing irreconcilable differences.)

In response, Cotillard put the rumors to rest — and revealed she is pregnant and expecting her second child with her longtime boyfriend, Guillaume Canet — in a lengthy September 21 Instagram post.

“Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need,” she wrote. “Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment.”
