Things are looking up for Brad Pitt.
It’s only been two weeks since he and Angelina Jolie decided to work out their divorce privately, but the change in Pitt’s attitude is already evident to those around him.
“He seems to have a more positive outlook,” a Pitt source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “Things seem much better now.”
After the bitter end of his 12-year relationship with Jolie in Septemeber, Pitt initially agreed to weekly supervised visits with their six kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. But thanks to the couple’s detente, he “can spend more time with them,” says the source.

“He seems much happier,” says the source. “He has missed his kids terribly. The kids are his whole world. It’s all he cares about.”
On Jan. 9, Pitt, 53, and Jolie, 41, released a joint statement saying they were working with a private judge to resolve their divorce and would “act as a united front” moving forward.
“Brad is willing to work with Angie so they can have peace for the kids,” says the source. “What it ultimately comes down to is that he just wants to be with the kids.”

Angelina Jolie Angling for London with Kids and U.N.'s Top Job ... Sources Say

Angelina Jolie has an endgame in her claims Brad Pitt abused one or more of their children -- she wants to move to London with the kids and score a top position in the United Nations ... sources connected with the couple tell TMZ.
Several well-placed sources say Brad and Angelina have not gotten along for more than a year, and she's been looking for an opportunity to end the marriage and bolt for her dream job ... with all 6 children in tow. We're told she knew that would be nearly impossible unless Brad's right to joint custody was in jeopardy.
As we reported ... Angelina told L.A. County Dept of Child and Family Services officials Brad brutalized Maddox on a private jet and engaged in other conduct that endangered the children. We know Brad strongly denied intentionally striking Maddox or engaging in any abuse, and DCFS clearly saw it his way ... closing out the investigation without taking any action.
Our sources say Angelina's move to involve DCFS was orchestrated by 2 women she's been relying on for advice for more than a year. One is a member of England's House of Lords, and the other also holds a U.K. government position. We're told they've been in Angelina's ear, convincing her she could become Secretary General of the U.N. if she plays her cards right.
Angelina, who has been paying both women handsomely for their consulting services, is all in and taking their cue that a move to London would help get her closer to the U.N. gig.
The rub, of course, is in order to take her kids out of the country ... she'd have to prove some sort of parental unfitness on Brad's part. So far she's struck out.
Jolie's rep denies there's a move planned and says Angelina is focused on the health and well being of her children. The rep adds, Angelina wants to continue therapy with the kids and Brad.
Our sources are clear and insist Europe and the U.N. post is the ultimate goal.
The custody war is now in family court -- she wants sole physical custody and he wants joint. We're told Angelina has a slim to none chance of taking the kids 6,000 miles away from Brad.

When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married at their chateau in the South of France two years ago after a decade together, they both said they did it for their children.
Their six kids wanted the security of knowing mum and dad were married. 'We didn't realise how much it meant to them,' Brad said at the time.
And who can forget the pictures in Hello! magazine of the happy wedding party of eight, Angelina's gown poignantly hand-sewn with drawings from their children?
It wasn't just the nuptial couple who were cementing their commitment to each other; it was, as always with the Brangelina brand, a picture-perfect family affair.
Fast forward to this week and she is now accusing her husband of child abuse after he allegedly became 'verbally abusive' and 'physical' during an alcohol-fuelled altercation aboard their private jet.
Within days Jolie had filed for divorce claiming that it was for 'the health of my family'. Yes, suddenly it's 'my' family.
Yet while this modern-day humanitarian 'saint' — who's endlessly parading her bleeding heart credentials by piously visiting war zones and refugee camps — destroys her husband's reputation, shouldn't we look at her own record as a mum?
She adopted three children from war-torn countries — Maddox, now 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11 — and went on to have three biological children with Pitt; Shiloh, ten, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight.
None of them has been to school for any length of time and there are hair-raising accounts of them all running wild at home even though they had six nannies — one per child — along with a tutor and a cook. (Angelina was too busy feeding the world to play any role in the kitchen.)
According to one nanny, Maddox was drinking wine and driving a car round the grounds aged nine while the kids developed an unhealthy obsession with weapons and martial arts.
Oh yes, and their daughter Shiloh has been cross-dressing since the tender age of three-and-a-half and was decked out as a boy at the Brangelina wedding.
The one time the kids seem to be pulled into line is when they are hauled off on regular visits to war-torn countries with mum in her role as a UN ambassador — Maddox was even taken to a refugee camp in Iraq for his eighth birthday present.
Angelina says she wants them to be global citizens and believes the trips are good for their development.
But isn't the truth that this is all about developing her own global image — transforming it from a moderately successful actress to selfless saint, bestowing munificence on the poor and needy? And using the children to do so?
The kids she too often leaves others to care for at home seem merely to be toys she pulls out of the cupboard to burnish her moral standing on the global stage. And yet she's the one accusing Brad Pitt of child abuse!

He might be a multi-millionaire Oscar-winner but Brad Pitt's family make him feel like the 'richest man alive'.
The 50-year-old actor says becoming a dad to Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, changed him completely and he loves helping his children grow up.
Brad - who along with his wife Angelina Jolie earned a reported $280 million alone in the past six years - told Psychologies magazine: 'You learn to value the basic beauty of family, of watching your children grow and evolve. It's the most beautiful thing you can experience. I feel like the richest man alive since I've become a father.'

Brad Pitt: My Kids Are Everything to Me

Brad Pitt can't put into words what fatherhood means to him, except to say, "It is everything."
"The hardest job in the world, the most rewarding job in the world," Pitt, 43, tells CNN's Larry King in an interview to air on Wednesday night.
"We put in long days [working]," the actor said. "And to go home and have dinner with your kids, and have to discipline one of them who's out of line, and still have the energy for that is ... I can't explain the fulfillment of that, but it is everything."
Three of Pitt's four children with Angelina Jolie are adopted, and King relayed an old quote from the late Chicago writer Bob Considine: "I have four children. Two are adopted. I forget which two."
"That's great. It is so true," Pitt said with a smile. "They're as much my blood as I am theirs. And they are brothers and sisters. One came from Ethiopia, one from Vietnam, one from Cambodia, and one was born in Namibia. And they are brothers and sisters, and they have fun and they squabble and they fight, just like any other family. And it makes me so proud."
