EXCLUSIVE: Marion Cotillard on Meeting Brad Pitt While Filming 'Allied': 'He's Such a Good Man'

by Tina Smithers Peckham 12:26 PM PST, November 13, 2016

Brad Pitt has yet another fan in Hollywood!

Marion Cotillard gushed over her Allied co-star to ET's Cameron Mathison at a Los Angeles junket for the film on Friday.

"[Brad is] such a good man," the 41-year-old actress said. "Of course he's an amazing actor. He's such a good person that it's really not difficult to get along with him."

Cotillard first met Pitt during rehearsals for the World War II thriller. Their chemistry was clear from the first trailer released, but she admitted that it's not something that comes easy with every co-star. "Sometimes, you never know," she explained. "Sometimes, you have nothing in common, no chemistry, and it still works on screen. You have many different situations, but we had this chance to have this period of time to get along together, so it helps."

The French actress did confess to strong nerves when she's about to shoot a new film, and working with the Oscar winner on Allied, out Nov. 23, was no exception. "I'm always super nervous, because I'm like, 'Oh, my God, if my reading is really bad, what are they going to think?'" she admitted.

"It's a new beginning each time, like a love story. You're in love with someone, and you spend 10 years together, and the relationship ends," she continued. "The next relationship, [in] the beginning, you will be like a newcomer in the love story world. So with the character, it's exactly the same."

While Pitt, 52, has addressed his struggles in taking on a French accent for the role, Cotillard said he did an "amazing job." "I know how hard it is to learn another language," she said. "I had to go from French to English and still struggle with some sounds sometimes, but I was very impressed [with his commitment to work on] his French."

Despite their on and off-screen chemistry, Cotillard has been quick to refute rumors that she caused the recent split between Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Rather, she is happily expecting her second child with longtime partner Giullaume Canet. She told ET that her 5-year-old son, Marcel, is thrilled to become an older brother. "He's very happy," the actress said.

Cotillard announced the pregnancy in September in her "first and only reaction" to Pitt's divorce news.

The 41-year-old actress stars alongside the Hollywood hunk in 'Allied', and has branded the actor, 52, as "such a good person".

Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight', Marion said: "[Brad is] such a good man. Of course he's an amazing actor. He's such a good person that it's really not difficult to get along with him."

And the actress admits that working with the 'Fury' star was nerve-wracking, as she worried about how she would sound in the original reading.

She added: "I'm always super nervous, because I'm like, 'Oh, my God, if my reading is really bad, what are they going to think?'"

Brad Pitt ‘Crying His Eyes Out’ After Losing Angelina Jolie & His Kids

Sat, September 24, 2016 11:44am EDT by Will Mendelson

This is so heartbreaking! Brad Pitt has been more upset than EVER since his shocking split with Angelina Jolie. HollywoodLife.com has all the EXCLUSIVE details on why he’s been CRYING for days!

Guys, our hearts are seriously breaking over this! An insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Brad Pitt, 52, has been more upset than ever before in dealing with his divorce from Angelina Jolie, 41 — and it all has to do with their six children. “Thinking about losing them cripples him,” our insider tells us. “Brad can’t help but break down into tears thinking about it. He’s been crying a lot, probably more than he ever has. It’s heartbreaking to see this good man be brought down like this. But no matter how bad he’s hurting, Brad won’t let himself fall to pieces. He will dust himself off and be strong not because he wants to, but because he has to for the kids. Protecting them is all that he cares about.”

This is SO upsetting to hear. The source revealed to us that Brad’s six children are “his life” and an escape from everything else going on in his life. Our insider even detailed how Brad loves helping them to bed, brushing their teeth and cuddling with them. Aw! This is seriously too cute to hear!

As we told you on Sept. 23, Angelina actually fell out of love with Brad a year ago. She had been pushing him around and their fights had only gotten worse, despite the hunky actor believing things would change. As for the reason why the actress was so upset with him? Sources close to Angelina have revealed it’s because of Brad’s marijuana and alcohol use. (which is a big fat lie)
