that explosive vanity fair article in which she casually described psychologically preying on impoverished orphans in order to emotionally exploit their trauma for her own gain (FOR A MOVIE!) and collaborating with the highly oppressive and abusive cambodian army which still has strong ties to the khmer rouge, again seeking to exploit peoples trauma and not forewarning the locals it was just a scene, instead capturing and bragging about the moment they genuinely dropped to their knees and wailed in abject terror when they thought the khmer rouge had returned...but it's ok - there was "a therapist" on set. because that's definitely how therapy works...duh. (while we're at it; lets also stop pretending the clear parentification of her own children is ok. it's a common subconscious form of abuse from bpd mothers and it's SO unsettling for kids. hers always look SO anxious all the time, and they're constantly described as "comforting" AJ. it's supposed to be the other way around.)

Angelina is not a victim. She just wants to set herself up like this. If he himself confessed his problems, although it is not, it does not mean that this is true.  In divorce, two are to blame.

lol of course Angie wants to save face. Even though she's sat down with them for years and never had an issue before. Jolie is better off apologizing instead of trying to act like she was " tricked "

Like most of us commenting, I am bewildered by Jolie's complaint. Her words are on tape. End of story. End of goody-two-shoes Jolie.

What kind of PR she has, I'm willing to bet that this magazine will no longer want to deal with her. Horror.

Well, she likes to blame everyone, it turns out that all she said about this terrible casting is true, and she tries to refute it.

These are children. 6 or 7 years old. Children have an understanding of Real and Make-believe; but not a concrete on. Which is sadly why we see children doing terrible things then thinking I'm sorry or making a wish will make it all better. Regardless of telling them it is just for fun or not real or a game they still because of their age have that part of them that thinks it could be real. It was a misguided exercise. I hope someone asks her if she would have let someone do it to her children. I bet not. .

She wanted that they took the blame on themselves. And she just needs to learn how to think first, and then talk. I will not be surprised if, with the help of lawyers, she forced to give Brad Pitt an interview and take the blame on himself.

The writer is a longtime, respected political reporter. She covered the Florida election recount during Gore v. W., for example. Reporters and their outlets do not bend when they believe they are accurate. The reporting appears accurate. FFS this was a kissy puff piece originally. Celebrities are not the only ones with reputations to defend; honestly, Angelina has become her own worst publicity.

If I never hear another peep out of "Angelina Uber Gaia, Atomic Earth Mother" and her right wing, fake- news-spouting goober of a Daddy then that would be reward enough.

No the transcripts were not misleading. Angelina did not deny the cruelty or the abusive tactics she used on those orphan kids. VF showed that Jolie is a liar infact.

Did you miss the quote in the transcript where it says "they did not know". Re-read the transcript again very carefully. It is not unfair to Angelina who smeared and spun this around greatly to degrade VF. She never stated it was monopoly money in the actual interview with VF. It doesn't change the fact that she used money, food, and etc as a tactic for untrained underprivileged children to provoke an emotional reaction to see who gets the part. It doesn't change the context much at all. It doesn't change the fact that there was trauma involved. It was real money that was used. You are missing the point here. Read the transcript on the website and it is not too different from what was printed in the original article. In both, AJ does not mention it was fake money. Are her spin doctors going to claim it was fake cookies too? Either way, it is a cruel exercise to play in a casting process given the circumstances. It also does not explain away her usage of the Khmer Rouge army or her appearing pleased that former traumatized war victims cried because they thought they were coming back. There were a number of questionable practices employed in the film. The spin around her spin is troubling.

Show some responsibility for your own words rather than deny and send lawyers.

The belief that she is nice and normal are fasle and hurtful.

I'm not surprised that her lawyer does not want to be named by name. Attorneys, as you know, do everything for money. Is it perhaps the same lawyer who also represents AJ in the divorce? I just hope the judge is not for sale, who will then decide on the custody.

If she wasn't involved in the casting, then who told this story to VF ? I thought the article was quoting Jolie. Either way, she was in charge and should have known what was going on.

My guess is that it was exactly the way Vanity Fair described. She would definitely be more interested in her image and her best interests than the welfare of the children.

AJ should have said the truth in her statement. I don't think she understands how stressful money is for most of us. She gets it in the abstract but she doesn't understand the gut punch feeling of not being able to get something you need or hold dear, not now and not ever. It struck me in her divorce article too, the vast wealth she has definitely cushions her from some of the hardships. To be able to just leave, to purchase a mansion, to take time off of work to heal, to choose the work you find rewarding,.. She's doing well, and wouldn't wish whatever happened on anyone but i can't help but recognize that privilege - the privilege of time and space to heal. I think this is why it was so easy to do this to the children. It's just money after all. The layers of psychological power and investment, forcing a child to do something painful to gain a reward is not good. This was a very bad move and all people involved need to seriously re-evaluate how they treat children and child actors.

She is vile and inhumane. The paper won't print a false article because of the implications.

Angelina said in her statement that no real money was but the transcript on VF's website shows that she said ' ¿We¿re going to put some money on the table. Think of something that you need that money for.¿ Sometimes it was money, sometimes it was a cookie. [Laughter]'. Angelina said in her statement that no real money was used and blamed the mistake on VF when in fact she's the liar.

Her last few movies have been box office bombs. How does she get more opportunities? SMH

Brad had already bought and traded for this movie, well before they split. He promised access/films consideration and then partially funded hall her projects, all of which have already bombed but for this one, which remains to be seen. so this film is VERY important for angie; Brad is never going to buy her another opportunity. She only dropped her lies against him bc his lawyer threatened to out her dr*g use.

Vanity Fair has far more credibility than Jolie has. It wouldn't be the least bit surprising to find out she was involved in this senselessly cruel trick, and she probably was.

They write about celebs and beyond (political figures, etc) and most definitely have their own legal / "risk management" team.

Wow, Vanity Fair is standing by their story about Jolie's disgusting casting method for Cambodian kids, they've published the transcript. It's plain and simple, as I've always said, she is a liar and exposed again. God knows how many lies she has already spread during the years.

Why are they always out now? Unless I just never paid attention I don't really ever recalling her making "special" trips with the kids out like this. And, sorry but that child doesn't seem happy.

VF put out a statement saying AJ's lawyers told them to remove the offending paragraph about the money-baiting game but they stand by the whole article after reviewing the tapes.

In the exact quotes she says she wasn't there, but the game sounds even worse. It sounded like the kids at the "slum school" didn't really know what auditions were. She also never said it was fake money. I'm glad VF is standing by their writer and story.

 I know it's ridiculous to care about a relationship involving two people you've never met. I know it's crazy how much society today value celebrities and their lives. But I honestly am saddened to hear this just because they seemed so perfect for each other.
