Uh oh! Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Sept. 19, but a Los Angeles family law attorney tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that her complaints about how Brad treats the kids could totally backfire! We have all the details, right here.
California Family Law & Divorce Attorney David Pisarra tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Angelina Jolie, 41, may have done more harm than good for herself by asking for full custody of the kids in her divorce with Brad Pitt, 52, especially after Child Protective Services got involved and rumors of child abuse surfaced.
“Angelina could be setting herself up for disaster,” David explained. “There are a couple ways this could end up badly for Angelina. Firstly, if a judge determines that she is overreacting and lying, it will affect her credibility going forward. Brad’s lawyer will use any and every exaggeration against her. Anything Angelina may have said to Child Protective Services, or if it turns out she is the one that turned him into the FBI, that could all come back to bite her in the butt.” Yikes!
So is there any chance Angie won’t get full custody of the kids? “If Brad’s lawyers can prove that Angelina has been overreacting it is a slim possibility that he would end up with full custody,” David revealed. “A judge could determine that Angelina is doing enough things to interfere with his relationship with his kids, that she is not helping to foster the parent-child relationship, and that Brad is the more likely parent to help foster a relationship with the kids and their mother. That is what happened with Kelly Rutherford.”
“If Brad can prove that Angelina has a pattern of fabricating claims, then the tables could get turned and he could end up with physical custody,” David further explained. “This is the problem with nuclear war divorces, you could end up blowing yourself up too.” We sure hope that Brad and Angie manage to figure this out peacefully, for the sake of their 6 gorgeous children!
