Picking up the spoils at the Screen Actors Guild Awards wasn’t fulfilment enough for Ben Affleck on Sunday night.
The award conquering Argo star says he’s turned into a real life version of Brad Pitt’s single white male and wants to be him.
‘I love Brad Pitt. I think he’s amazing,’ Affleck gushed before collecting the Ensemble Cast, Motion Picture gong at LA’s Shrine Auditorium. In a bizarre suck up to his idol, Affleck continued: ‘I love the way he looks, I’m not going to lie! I think he’s awesome. If I could be somebody, it’d definitely be Brad Pitt.’
The 40-year-old’s night of adoration came on a night of high emotion after his victory for his tale of the US diplomatic drama in Tehran during Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Over the room and Anne Hathaway admitted she was knocking back the shots to deal with her butterflies.
Storming to the supporting actress, motion picture for her role as prostitute Fantine in Les Miserables, the 30-year-old said: ‘[Of course I had butterflies in my stomach! My manicure is a couple of butterflies keeping me company. My secret for getting through awards shows is adrenaline and the slightest bit of vodka.’
It was a top night for the British film industry after Bond flick Skyfall picked up the action performance by a stunt ensemble.
‘Downton Abbey landed the outstanding ensemble cast honours.
Daniel Day-Lewis cemented his Oscar credentials by snagging the actor in a motion picture gong for Lincoln.
