'THE THREE ARE IN CAHOOTS'
THE Sun today reveals how William Hague’s ex-adviser and a member of the House of Lords have become central in the war between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Pals say Arminka Helic, 48, and Chloe Dalton, 37 — mockingly referred to as “the two witches” — got between the couple in the marriage’s last year as Angelina’s personal advisers.
Last night a long-time member of the couple’s staff revealed: “The three are in cahoots together and it’s Brad who loses out.
“It’s very easy to get caught in Angelina’s web for Chloe and Arminka. Angelina is a seductress of the highest order.
“I’m sure that they find it intoxicating because when she wants to be Angie is incredibly intoxicating.”
For the first time, friends of the couple have disclosed how Brad became increasingly angry with the pair’s close relationship with his wife in the last year of their marriage.
A pal said: “At first he enjoyed having them around. But you could see, especially in the last year, he started to get more and more infuriated with them because they would never be out of the room.
“Every time he went into a room and wanted to speak to Angelina, they’d be there in the background. And he could definitely see the change that was going on where they would constantly advise her.”
Another staff member explained: “They were always advising her, ‘You should spent more time with us and some time away from Brad’.
“The asked her to come to a family estate in Yorkshire or go to Bosnia to visit Arminka’s family.”
A second staff member added: “You’d catch them whispering into her ear either side of her and then as soon as you walked into a room they’d go quiet and stare at you.”
The pair — who live yards apart in central London — first worked with the actress in 2012 on initiatives with then-Foreign Secretary Hague, who credited the trio as being “full of ideas” in an interview last year.
But staff tell how the pair fast became Angelina’s key advisers across both her professional and personal life.
An employee said: “Initially when they came into Angie’s life it was entirely about the political and her charitable side, and then in this past period of time it took on a whole other life. It became very intense.
“It was notable in Hollywood that all of a sudden two UK political advisers were now somehow being viewed as legitimate representatives of Angie on every level.”
They quickly became Jolie’s key advisers, particularly in the UN special envoy role, but got involved in all aspects of her life
In May 2015, the trio launched the Jolie Pitt Dalton Helic Foundation dedicated to improving access to education and preventing violence to women. Jolie lent the charity, which was set up as a company, £368,686 to get it off the ground.
Accounts for December 2015 showed Jolie pumped in the sum and has not yet received any money back. Neither Helic or Dalton have made a loan to the company.
The Jolie cash was spent in just seven months, between May and December 2015. The foundation has assets of £42,117 but an overall debt of £348,786.
While the set-up is perfectly legitimate, official documents reveal Jolie is the only director responsible for covering any debts the foundation racks up.
Jolie, Dalton, and Helic co-founded a charity with their names in 2015, with Jolie bankrolling the organisation’s debts
Angelina loaned over £300,000 to the company and has not received it back
The pair are believed to have travelled numerous times on business with Angelina, with sources suggesting they have spent at least 70 days with her this year.
They are thought to have stayed with the family at the Amman Resort in Thailand last December and have travelled twice to Cambodia in recent months.
They have also made at least six trips to LA, including in April, May, June, July, September and again this month.
A pal said: “They’re in contact all the time, including in Malibu recently. They come for weeks.”
Who is Arminka Helic? Bosnian refugee with seat in House of Lords
THE Bosnian-born Baroness became a teacher after studying English literature at university.
She got involved in politics when she fled to England as a refugee in 1992.
She began her political career in 1998 by giving foreign policy advice and was hired by former Foreign Secretary William Hague, 55, in 2006.
In 2014 she was nominated to the House of Lords by Prime Minister David Cameron, 50, and was created a Life Peer in the same year to gain her title.
She made another political step in May when she was appointed to the International Relations Committee in the House of Lords.
Who is Chloe Dalton? Diplomat's daughter and former adviser to William Hague
STARTED working with William Hague as an aide in 2005 and wrote his speeches for the next ten years.
She is the daughter of a former senior member of the British Diplomatic Service, Sir Richard Dalton, 68.
His appointments included British Ambassador to Libya in 1999, when diplomatic relations were resumed after a 17-year break.
After several years working with Hague, Chloe was drafted into the Foreign Office as a special adviser in 2010 following the resignation of Christopher Myers, wrongly accused of having an affair with Hague.
Chloe helped set up the Jolie Pitt Dalton Helic Foundation last year, which she now writes speeches for.
On Wednesday, a request Brad made to seal court documents about their custody battle and divorce proceedings was rejected in court.
While no one suggests Chloe and Arminka are behaving improperly, friends say they have been caught up in Angelina’s bitter and public battle with Brad.
One said: “When you’re at Angelina’s house or when you’re in any kind of crisis mode whether it’s preparation for a film or a commercial or a UN speech it’s an all-encompassing thing.”
A staff member added: “They’ve come out of that political environment working for William Hague and tried to use that template to help the family and it doesn’t work.”
Staff The Sun spoke to suggest the women are not popular with some of the couple’s loyal workers.
One staffer said: “If you went up to most people who work with the family anywhere around the world and you mentioned the nickname two witches, everyone knows exactly who you’re talking about.”
Angelina and her team are said to remain determined to gain sole custody of the children.
A friend of the couple said: “I think their end game is to support Angelina and they don’t pay enough regard to the impact it will have on Brad’s life.”
Last night a source close to Brad said: “Brad is despondent but being committed to his children and remains dedicated to the process.
“The FBI and child services have cleared him so he is confident of gaining joint custody.”
