"He's such a good man."

From looking at the previews, Allied costars Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt have an undeniable chemistry. But how exactly did it come about? Cotillard recently opened up about starring opposite the actor in their upcoming WWII drama.

"He's such a good man," she told Entertainment Tonight. "Of course he's an amazing actor. He's such a good person that it's really not difficult to get along with him."

The costars actually first met at the Allied rehearsals, Cotillard explained, and spent about 20 days together rehearsing and filming (with director Robert Zemeckis), which helped build their visible onscreen chemistry. For the actress, that's often a rare case.

"Sometimes, you have nothing in common, no chemistry and it still works on screen. You have many different situations, but we had this chance to have this period of time to get along together," she added.

Cotillard and Pitt's project became the center of public scrutiny after news broke of the actor's divorce from Angelina Jolie and rumors spread of his supposed affair with his costar. Cotillard, who is expecting her second child with her boyfriend Guillaume Canet, shot the rumors down soon after with an emotional message on Instagram. "To all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery," she noted to those who spread the gossip, before sending Pitt and Jolie her best wishes.
